Annual Free Coast Guard Vessel Inspection

Whether your vessel is motor, wind or man powered, the Blackwater Pyrates -- in conjunction with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary – is sponsoring a free vessel safety check to the public at Carpenter’s Park and Russell Harbor boat landings in Milton.

Vessels passing the inspection will receive a one-year decal for the vessel acknowledging the pass. The decal indicates to maritime law officers that the vessel conforms to minimum required safety regulations and thus avoiding a possible stop on the water for a safety check.

As this is not a law enforcement inspection, vessels not passing will be given a checklist of deficiencies, but not a citation. Within reason and available resources, deficiencies will be corrected free of charge by the Blackwater Pyrates on the spot.
